At Ascend Learning Trust, safeguarding is at the heart of everything we do. Any position that involves working with children requires the declaration of all convictions and cautions, including those considered spent. A Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check will be carried out before any employment begins.

References will be requested prior to interview at the shortlisting stage and may be used as part of the interview process. If your previous employment included working with children, at least one referee must be from that role, even if it is not your most recent. Any gaps in employment must be explained in the relevant section of your application.
