Strategic Plan

Ascend Learning Trust was set up as a multi academy trust in May 2017 having converted to Academy status in 2011.

The establishment of Ascend Learning Trust was identified as an ideal opportunity to offer collaboration, commitment and school improvement opportunities to other Academies seeking to join the Trust, who wished to emulate the principles, leadership and achievements stemming originally from Royal Wootton Bassett Academy (RWBA). RWBA was judged by Ofsted as ‘Outstanding’ in two inspections in November 2010 and November 2013. RWBA became a National Teaching School and a National Support School in 2012.

Our roles in strategically leading Ascend Learning Trust are based on the simple premise of seeking to maximise the life chances of every pupil within the Trust.

We believe this can be achieved through sharing leadership principles and management processes which support high levels of pupil attainment and achievement by ensuring staff are equipped to deliver the highest quality of teaching, learning and assessment in each Academy.
