Wellington Eagles Primary Academy

I began my teaching career in 2007 in Newbury, Berkshire where I worked in a secondary school as a Teaching Assistant and Cover Supervisor, I soon found a love for education and knew that this is what I wanted to do.

I worked hard to gain a degree in Environmental Studies and then qualified to become a teacher. I quickly progressed to becoming a Head of Department and then became a Head of House where I oversaw 350 pupils. After working as an Associate Teacher for a year at a primary school, I realised that this is where my passion was so I moved to a local primary school as a Special Educational Needs Coordinator (SENCo) and part of the Senior Leadership Team and following that, I assisted with the set up and opening of a brand new SEN school for children with autism – literally building it from the floor up!

I was honoured and privileged to have been appointed Headteacher of Wellington Eagles Primary Academy in November 2024, a school where every child is nurtured and supported so that they can reach their full potential, and I consider this to be one of my proudest life achievements.

I have three beautiful children all of which have now left school. I am keen horse rider and own a horse called Betty, who I compete on in my spare time. Should I find myself with any other ‘spare’ time, I also enjoy running and the gym!
