Prior to her work in charity education she spent 15 years working in the commercial sector as a retail buyer for well known high street names such as Debenhams and Marks and Spencer- most recently running one of M&S's largest buying departments before leaving to pursue new challenges.

Kate has served on the LGB for her children's Primary School for the past 5 years, with link responsibilities for English and Finance.

This varied background incorporating commercial, education and 3rd sector organisations means Kate has a unique blend of experience to bring to the Trust.

As a mother of 2 children in the school system,  Kate is passionate about ensuring that all children receive the best possible outcomes from their time in education.

Outside of work Kate enjoys travelling to new countries and experiencing different cultures, as well as keeping fit by attending a local gym and running, as well as spending time with friends and family.
